Don’t miss the forest, or the trees, or the leaves, or their sounds
I really like working at this scale and with this aspect ratio. It connects with my own bodily scale, the reach of my arms. Feels door like. The classic distinction is portrait vs landscape, but I prefer door vs window. When its wider than it is tall, it feels like something you look out from or peer into, but you aren’t moving. With a door, there is the expectation or implication of a passage. It leads somewhere. You are going through it, or something is coming through it to you. And there might be something behind that.
The warm glow coming in from behind is what resonates in this one. Like the edges of cloud between us and the lightning, or the bathroom light banking through the bedroom doorway at the end of the hall, or a rustling canopy over firelight.
