When you hear the rain, stop what you’re doing

There’s the billowing, roiling, all-overness of it, with the firmament of background static, and the shadows of the current configuration’s prior transfigurations. You can also just take the line up at any point and follow the loop around to make out a consistent underlying structure. You can also distinguish each of the previous layers — each layer being one color, and the colors progressing through hue, value, and acuity shifts along a meandering gradient as the layers accumulate. Focus on the turquiose and you’re looking back in time. You can see all the variances, mistakes, and conversions that progressively aspired toward the current completed state.
